Senior Pastor
Job Description
As a Pastor/Shepherd:
- He would be responsible for the spiritual health of the congregation, through weekly messages from God's Word, as well as other aspects of ministry.
- He would oversee the administrative staff and offer support to them.
- He would seek to involve others in the equipping of ministers to do God's work, not only in the church but in the community as well.
- He would be pro-active, engaging others to serve and support the church.
- He would lead by example, as would his family, by doing the business of doing life together, being the leader who leads his family as he would lead the church, with compassion, love and a fair amount of honest effort.
As a teacher, he would offer his wisdom and knowledge of Scripture to mature the congregation, to challenge and stretch them to serve with gladness and gratitude.
As the church grows, he would help with the various search committees to grow and expand the reach and mission of the church, to bring in others that can fulfill the vision of proclaiming to all that there is hope in no one but Jesus Christ.
About this Church
Cornerstone Bible Fellowship is located about 45 minutes from Wichita. We are a congregation of about 100-125, and are currently looking for a senior pastor, after ours retired after 25 years of godly service. Winfield is a community of almost 12,000 with good schools, a college, hospital and an active resource for sports and other activities for adults and youth. Winfield is home to the Walnut Valley Music Festival, an annual event which brings musicians and attenders from all over the world and doubles the population for a weekend!
We agree, as a church, with the EFCA Statement of Faith, although we see ourselves as premill in belief. We offer AWANA for children, as well as several ministries for people of all ages. We would pray that we can continue to proclaim God's Word to this community and to those we support overseas. We seek a pastor/shepherd to lead and equip us.
