Job Description


The Middle School Pastor will cultivate a disciplemaking environment for Middle School students by providing pastoral care and Christ-centered leadership for students, families and volunteers.


• Full-Time // Exempt (40-50 hours per week)
• Ministry Staff // Next Gen Ministries // Reports to Next Gen Ministries Pastor


• Be a champion of NHC’s vision, leadership and ministries
• Work collaboratively with other NHC ministry leaders to cultivate partnership and effectiveness
• Participate and invest in NHC staff community
• Participate in general shepherding ministries as needed (child dedication, counseling, visitation, baptism, etc.)
• Embrace any additional opportunities as assigned to contribute to NHC’s ministry impact
• Develop, organize and lead Middle School ministry opportunities that engage seekers and develop believers
• Build into the lives of NHC students and families through personal shepherding and community development
• Work with the Student Ministries team to implement cohesive vision and strategy for Middle and High School
• Envision and create teaching rhythms that connect students to the Word of God
• Help pioneer new ways for NHC to engage and disciple unchurched students in our surrounding community
• Recruit, train and shepherd volunteers who share the vision of student ministries
• Assist in creating and administrating Student Ministries budget to maximize ministry impact
• Assist in planning and leading retreats, mission trips and conferences that help students grow together in Christ
• Collaborate with other ministry leaders to develop integrated discipleship strategy from birth up to adulthood
