Job Description

The Big Picture

Monson Community Church is seeking a bi-vocational pastor to shepherd the flock through preaching, leading and pastoral care.

The Church and The Candidate

Exciting opportunity to pastor a small church in this beautiful little Maine village. We can provide a spacious parsonage and help with some expenses but are unable to offer a salary or other compensation. Therefore, the most likely candidate would be either a retired, financially independent, or bi-vocational “tentmaker” individual with a heart to make a difference for Jesus Christ in the northwoods of Maine.

This position would entail the typical responsibilities of a small-church pastor, e.g. preaching, teaching, visiting, outreach, administration, officiating at funerals, baptisms, weddings — encouraging believers and reaching out to those in the community who do not currently profess Christ as Lord and Savior.

The candidate should be a male committed to Christ, well-grounded in historic Christian faith and doctrine and preferably (but not necessarily) have some previous record of service as a successful pastor.

The church is affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America.

The Process

Please look over the job description and the church Facebook page. Along with your resume please answer these four questions:

  1. Why do you believe that you might be a good fit as the pastor for Monson Community Church?
  2. Describe your experiences in ministry and how you may be qualified to serve as the pastor at Monson Community Church?
  3. In just a few sentences please give a summary of your theology and how that is in line with the doctrine of the Evangelical Free Church of America?
  4. What is your bi-vocational plan?

Please send your resume and the answers to these questions to Jason@LancasterSearch.com
