Church Planting Pastor
Job Description
The Church Planting Pastor (CPP) is a position for someone who is led by the Holy Spirit to start the work of a new church, while gaining the community and support that comes from being part of a team. The CPP will spend launching the new campus/plant within 12-18 months after his start date. The CPP will work in ministry alignment with the main campus, until such a time as the campus is released to become an independent EFCA church.
About this Church
Waukee Community Church (WCC) is located in Waukee, Iowa and is an member of the Evangelical Free Church of America. In 2005, we were planted by Valley Church, West Des Moines, Iowa, with the goal of making disciples of Jesus in the growing western suburbs of Des Moines. You can read our story on our website but, in short, we believe that God uses relationships to make disciples of Jesus who, in turn, make more disciples. Our philosophy has resulted in the vibrant, steady growth of our church family.
In 2016, we purchased a strip mall and have been expanding into the facility as the leases of our tennants expire. We now occupy the whole building and our church continues to grow. Because we are committed to a relationally-driven philosophy of ministry, we don’t desire to simply build a bigger building. We want to foster the expansion of the Kingdom of God through planting another church in our community. This plant will begin as a campus, receiving the resources and support of WCC. This campus will share our mission, vision and values. Eventually, we intend see this campus become an independent church plant in the EFCA.
