Position Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Preaching & Teaching:
- Deliver a weekly Sunday sermon.
- Lead an adult Sunday school class (1 hour/week).
- Teach a morning or evening Bible study (1 hour/week).
- Pastoral Care:
- Conduct sick visits, baptisms, funerals and other sacraments as needed.
- Provide spiritual guidance and support to congregants.
- Community Engagement:
- Support the church’s local and international outreach initiatives.
- Foster relationships within the congregation and broader community.
Qualifications
• Ordained or licensed minister (or equivalent theological training).
• Experience in preaching, teaching and pastoral care.
• Ability to connect with a retirement-aged congregation.
• Alignment with the Evangelical Free Church of America Statement of Faith.
• Alignment with the church’s mission and values.

Yankeetown Community Church, a welcoming congregation primarily serving retirees, seeks a part-time pastor to provide spiritual leadership, teaching and pastoral care. The church is actively engaged in local food ministries and international outreach (e.g., Operation Christmas Child). This role balances weekly preaching/teaching with occasional pastoral duties (e.g., visitations, sacraments).
