Job Overview

Faith Church is a multi-generational, EFCA church in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, a suburb of Albuquerque. We are seeking a part-time worship leader who is both pastorally oriented and musically gifted to help cultivate and lead the Spanish ministries in vibrant and engaging worship.

The ideal candidate would lead the Spanish ministries service into heartfelt praise through music that aligns with the church’s core values. We seek an individual gifted instrumentally (keyboard and/or guitar, etc.) and vocally.

Qualifications

• The director of worship shall meet the biblical qualifications for an elder in accordance with 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-3.
• Affirm the EFCA Statement of Faith and Constitution.
• Be skilled in the faithful interpretation and application of Scripture.
• Possess a biblical understanding of worship.
• Possesses superior musical talents and abilities.
• Possesses superior oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in management and administrative functions.
• Proficient in the use of modern communications technology.

Education and Experience

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is preferred, but not required.
• 2+ years of experience in a related field is preferred, but not required.
• Possess a biblical understanding of worship.
• Be a skilled musician able to lead with a group or alone (though leading every week is not required).
• Has a native command of the Spanish language.
• Possesses the ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Be proficient in management and administrative roles.
• Be proficient in modern communications technology (Pro Presenter, Planning Center, Proclaim, etc.)
• Knowledge of the technical tools required for worship (Sound board, microphones, microphone lines, etc.)

Primary Responsibilities

• Leading and Facilitating Worship for the Sunday Service: To prepare and lead worship for the Sunday morning services. This would include putting together the worship team for that week; rehearsal with the worship team before the service; collaborating with the pastor of Spanish ministries on song selection, readings and prayer for the service; and any other facets that would be a part of the service.

• Administration and Planning for the Worship Team: To communicate with the worship team and the congregation in a timely manner. This would include scheduling the worship team, scheduling and preparing rehearsals with enough time for people to plan accordingly, planning for Sunday morning services and other events, maintaining and improving the audio and visual equipment and managing the budgeted lines for which the position is responsible.

• Oversight of the Worship Team Members: To lead those involved with the worship ministry and the congregation. This would include recruiting people for the worship team, training and equipping where needed, developing other worship team members and giving oversight to the congregation concerning worship.

• Shepherding Care: To shepherd the people of the worship team and the congregation. This would include care for people through counsel, prayer, visitation and any necessary exhortation or encouragement.

Commitment

Part Time: 15-20 hours.

Remuneration

$15,000-20,000 negotiated according to qualifications.

Accountability

The director of worship is directly accountable to the pastor of Spanish ministries.
The director of worship will receive annual performance reviews from the pastor of Spanish ministries.
