Kids Ministry Director

Prairie Hill Church is seeking a new gospel-ministry partner to join our team and lead the kids ministry for the glory of Jesus in our community.

The kids ministry director will provide team-based leadership to the kids ministry through developing a Christian community for kids at Prairie Hill. This will involve building relationships with parents and children, building/maintaining relationships with our local elementary school, curriculum management and implementation, volunteer recruitment/training/scheduling and planning/executing events.

Reporting Structure:
The kids ministry director reports to the senior pastor.

1. Vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
2. A member of Prairie Hill Church or willing to pursue membership.
3. A passion for building relationships with the lost and inviting them to Jesus.
4. A passion for ministry to children and their parents.
5. A demonstrated ability to equip others for effective ministry.
6. Strong interpersonal, organizational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

20 hours/week

• Develop and implement short and long-term ministry goals.
• Leadership of ministries for kids age birth through grade 5.
• Participate in the selection and use of all curriculum for children's ministries.
• Equip and encourage parents to effectively disciple their children, age birth through grade 5.
• Recruit, train, encourage and equip youth and adult volunteers for kids ministry.
• Regularly attend NCD kids ministry network meetings and leadership development.
• Create and oversee a ministry budget for kids ministry.
• Maintain compliance with the Prairie Hill Child Protection Policy.
• Teach child protection classes and oversee background checks for staff and volunteers.
• Work collaboratively with other staff and lay leaders, supporting the overall ministry of the church, including ministry to the local public elementary school.
• Attend Prairie Hill staff meetings & other occasional meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
