New City Serve Pastor/Director
Job Description
Position Summary:
The Serve Pastor/Director is a dynamic and collaborative leader who helps others find and follow Jesus by guiding all serve efforts within the discipleship journey framework, empowering individuals to discover and use their passions and purpose for the Kingdom.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Own the overall purpose essential of the discipleship team and framework
- Collaborate with the Discipleship Team to align serve milestones with the overall discipleship journey next steps
- Identify and own “seam” areas with other ministry leaders to ensure congregants can take the next step
- Mobilize both congregations to take steps into discipleship journey by collaboratively leading communication efforts and creating clear on-ramps
- Strategically manage partnerships and grant funds to achieve maximum kingdom impact in alignment with Here, Near and Far
- Lead local and global serve efforts through volunteer and staff teams
- Recruit, train and lead volunteers to become point people with established local and global partners
- Connect New City congregations with local and global partners
- Facilitate communication via volunteers with partners and serve opportunities with New City congregations
- Consistently revisit partnerships to achieve maximum alignment with HNF
- Manage Serve Budget
- Exercise fiscal responsibility by managing resources efficiently and effectively, providing accountability and maximum impact per dollar
- Develop and build teams that can advise on how to apportion money each year

• A leadership style that knows when to give direction and when to empower others to lead
• A proven track record of recruiting, developing, and motivating volunteers
• A collaborative spirit—able to work closely with staff, senior leaders and ministry partners at all levels
• Strategic thinking that connects everyday service opportunities to the larger vision of New City Church
