Family Ministries Pastor
Job Description
Hope Fellowship Church is looking for an energic, Christ-centered leader who desires children and students (infant-12th grade) come to a saving knowledge of Christ and grow in their relationship with Him. The Family Ministries Pastor needs to be a team player who knows how to build solid relationships with children, students, parents and adult leaders and helps lead the ministering team to a gospel-centered vision for the evangelizing and discipling of children and students in our church. The family ministries pastor is accountable to the lead pastor. This position is full-time.
Qualifications:
- Scriptural: 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9
- Education: Degree from a Bible college in biblical studies (or at least three years of pastoral experience)
- Experience: Prefer two years working within a children and student ministry context (having experience with children’s ministry is important)
- Skills and Giftings: Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching methods. Leadership and team-building ability, effective communication and interpersonal skills, self-starter with good organizational and administrative capabilities
- Agreement with the Statement of Faith, Mission and Values of Hope Fellowship Church
Children’s Ministry Responsibilities (Infant-Grade 5)

Communicate a clear vision, plan out, coordinate and direct the children’s ministry activities of HFC.
This shall include but not be limited to:
• Sunday morning children’s classes and nursery
• Fellowship activities for children in our church and their families (on and off campus)
• Outreach events for the families in our community
• Seasonal children’s ministry events like VBS, Christmas Program, etc. -
Team Building - Identify, recruit and develop volunteers to assist with various areas of the children’s ministry.

Coordinate curriculum.

Have personal contact with the parents of children in nursery—grade 5 on a regular basis.

Partner with parents to disciple their children in Christ.

Ensure a safe and secure environment for children during all ministry activities, aligning the safety policies of HFC with industry standards.
Student Ministry Responsibilities (Grades 6-12)
- Challenge each young person to faith in Christ and seek to provide ongoing discipleship.
- Communicate a clear vision, plan out, coordinate and direct the student ministry activities of HFC. Including but not limited to the following:
• Sunday evening student ministry gathering
• Fellowship activities for students (on and off campus)
• Student Ministry leadership training for adult student leaders and student leaders
• Student Ministry retreats, conferences, camps, mission trips
• Service opportunities: at least two service projects a year. - Team building—Identify, recruit and develop volunteers to assist with various areas of student ministry.
- Have personal contact with students in grades 6-12 on a regular basis. This may be accomplished through group meetings, attending lunches at schools, attending school events, visitations, counseling, etc.
- Partner with parents to disciple their children in Christ. Work alongside the lead pastor to host parenting seminars for children and/or students.
General Responsibilities:
- Maintaining an ongoing, growing personal relationship with Christ through personal prayer and Bible study.
- Coordinate and cooperate with staff and ministry leaders in the various functions and programs of the church.
- Formulate, submit and administer an annual budget for youth and children’s ministries.
- Participate in other pastoral functions as assigned by the lead pastor.
- Participate in the life and ministry of Hope Fellowship Church and build relationships with others within the congregation.
- Supervise the ministry leaders of additional family ministries programs at HFC.
Note: The first year on staff will primarily consist of focusing on the children’s ministry.
