Worship Leader

The Director of Worship will design, lead and oversee a corporate worship experience that draws people into an encounter with God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The director will provide vision and direction for the worship ministry in harmony with the vision of the church. This individual will work with the creative worship team along with the lead pastor and the elder board in developing and implementing the worship ministry. This position reports to the lead pastor while maintaining a close relationship with the elder board.

This individual should have:

• A strong Christian testimony and proven experience in leading worship and in creative expression. This person must be musically gifted and able to lead the congregation in God-focused worship music.
• Be a self-starter with effective relational skills, the ability to build a strong spiritually driven team ministry. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary, along with a spirit of enthusiasm, creativity and perseverance.
• Formal training or a college degree or equivalent life experience in instrumental and vocal music. Experience with a wide scope of musical styles from contemporary to traditional is necessary, as well as an ability to articulate and model a biblical philosophy of worship within a broader philosophy of ministry.
• Demonstrable instrumental and vocal skills commensurate with a lead worship role. It is preferred that instrumental ability allows for combined instrumental/vocal expression with preference given to guitar.
• Computer skills including familiarity with worship ministry related software. This person should have the ability to creatively and effectively communicate information and ideas. Information Technology (IT) expertise would be a plus.
• This person must be in agreement with the Evangelical Free Church of America's doctrinal statement and execute responsibilities in a Christ-honoring manner.
