Associate Pastor of Worship and Students
Job Description
We’re looking for a full-time Associate Pastor of Worship & Students who loves Jesus, values discipleship and thrives on building genuine relationships while leading others to grow in Christ-like character.
Worship leadership is the primary focus of this role, with the ability to lead from guitar or piano, sing and develop a strong worship team, while also having a heart for students and creating a fun, engaging environment.
Our worship style is contemporary with a mix of modern songs and hymns, always prioritizing theological depth.
We desire someone humble, collaborative and willing to roll up their sleeves in a set-up church environment, partnering with the lead pastor to help our church family grow and thrive.
The Associate Pastor of Worship & Student's responsibilities include:
Lead Worship Ministry: Plan, lead and develop worship services, including playing guitar or piano, singing and building a worship team that supports the church’s contemporary style mixed with occasional hymns.
Oversee Youth Ministry: Lead and support the youth ministry (6th–12th grade), fostering spiritual growth and discipleship among students and building teams to run the youth ministry.
Preach Occasionally: Deliver sermons or messages about once a month.
Collaborate with senior pastor and ministry teams: To align worship and youth ministry with the church’s vision and values.
Volunteer Leadership: Recruit, equip and encourage volunteers within worship and youth ministries who will faithfully serve in alignment with the church’s mission and vision.
Adapt to Set-Up Church Environment: Embrace the unique challenges and opportunities of meeting in a YMCA gym, including set-up and tear-down responsibilities.
Promote Discipleship and Community: Foster an environment that encourages genuine relationships, accountability and Christ-like character growth among all ages.
Maintain Theological Integrity: Ensure worship songs and teaching align with the church’s theological convictions, avoiding controversial or shallow content.
Support Global and Local Outreach: Engage in the church’s mission initiatives, including local partnerships and global missions, as appropriate.
What you bring

Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred or actively being pursued.
- Three years of ministry experience is desired, but we warmly welcome and will consider candidates who are new to ministry and are passionate about the Lord and serving.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to plan, lead and develop worship services, including playing guitar or piano, singing and building a worship team
- Able to preach biblically sound messages occasionally
- Relatable and able to build trust with students
- Humble, relational and team-oriented with strong communication skills
- Committed to the church’s biblical beliefs and theology
- Adaptable and persistent, comfortable with a set-up church environment
