Job Description

We have an opening for our Director of Blackhawk Kids (BKids) role. At Blackhawk, we value people in all stages of life, knowing that everyone has something to contribute. In every age and season, we want people to find their place for community and growth, both among their peers and across generations. The director of Blackhawk Kids is an important part of this vision as they oversee the BKids direction, strategy and staff team.

Responsibilities

➢ Blackhawk Kids

  • Oversee the vision, direction, strategy, communication and budget of BKids. Develop others and delegate to them as appropriate in leading and implementing the following areas.
    • Work with BKids site coordinators to ensure the effectiveness of Sunday programming
    • Work with the BKids curriculum coordinator to oversee curriculum and content
    • Work with the BKids associate director to foster a healthy volunteer culture and environment
    • Work with BKids staff team to ensure child protection policies are regularly reviewed, trained and implemented
    • Manage crises, care, and emergency preparedness situations
    • Provide leadership and direction for parent partnerships and family events
    • Partner with Impact Ministry for impact initiatives for kids and families
    • Partner with student ministries as kids transition from one ministry to another
    • Partner with all Blackhawk ministries to advocate for, align with, and champion Blackhawk Kids
  • Lead the BKids Team, ensuring cohesion and alignment of direction and implementation
    • Supervise BKids staff
    • Develop the BKids staff team
    • Maintain good working relationships with site pastors and BKids site coordinators to support, coach and troubleshoot BKids at the sites
  • Maintain connections and networks. Stay apprised of best practices, resources and trends.

  • Stable, mature, growing disciple of Jesus Christ, committed to the values of Blackhawk Church
  • Vision for a ministry that is exciting and relevant to children and encourages spiritual development
  • Has demonstrated ability in thinking strategically; is able to anticipate and initiate change
  • Energized by envisioning, equipping and including others (staff, volunteers, leaders, and teams) in ministry
  • Has a working knowledge of children’s development stages and learning styles
  • Exercises mature and independent judgment with confidentiality and tact
  • Values multicultural ministry and leads through a multicultural lens
  • Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft 365
