Pastor/Elder of Family Ministry

We are seeking a biblically sound, competent, highly relational, emotionally mature Pastor/Elder to disciple parents and families, and build the next generation of leaders and disciples for Jesus. The family pastor will provide pastoral leadership, counseling and spiritual development for families within the church, with a particular emphasis on strengthening marriages, equipping parents and guiding youth.

Qualifications

• Elder Qualified according to 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1
• Agree with the EFCA Statement of Faith
• 5+ years of ministry preferred
• Theological degree preferred

Salary Range:

$65K - $80K (based on experience and education), a SEP Retirement benefit and paid vacation time.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Family Ministry:

• Develop and lead regular fellowship events designed to strengthen family bonds and build community within the church
• Equip parents to disciple their children and nurture faith at home through classes, resources and personal mentoring
• In cooperation with the RH Missions Team, plan and lead service opportunities that engage families in mission work, both locally and beyond

Youth Ministry:

• Build a consistent, relational, gospel-centered ministry for middle and high school students including Bible study, fellowship, discipleship and service
• Oversee and develop a volunteer team for weekly large group meetings for teaching and fellowship
• Coordinate events, mission trips, retreats and other experiences for students to grow in relationship with God and with one another
• Partner with parents to support and equip them in their role as primary spiritual leaders in their children’s lives

Children’s Ministry:

• Bible study, fellowship, discipleship and service
• Provide oversight for weekly Sunday school and AWANA and nursery
• Partner with parents to support and equip them in their role as primary spiritual leaders in their children’s lives

Counseling and Pastoral Care:

• Provide counseling, education and encouragement to individuals, couples and families on issues such as marriage, parenting, conflict resolution and spiritual growth
• Partner with church leadership to provide pastoral care to families facing crises or transitions
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all counseling relationships

Administration and Collaboration:

• Preach or teach in worship gatherings as needed
• Manage ministry budgets, calendars and communication
