Senior Pastor
Job Description
THE BIG PICTURE
Cornerstone Bible Fellowship is seeking a full-time senior pastor.
Purpose
To lead the church towards the fulfillment of its purpose as taught in Scripture and as stated in its bylaws and to preach the Word of God to the mutual edification, instruction and discipline of its members and believers; winning of the unsaved to Christ; helping young Christians develop their spiritual lives; instructing children in the Word of God; and furthering the cause of Christ on the mission fields at home and abroad.

To actively have a part in leading men and women, boys and girls, in all nations, to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as undershepherd responsible to Jesus Christ
- Teach and preach the Word of God
- Oversee the administration of the ordinances of baptism and communion
- Advance the spiritual life and interests of the congregation
Additional Responsibilities:
- Be available to the congregation for counsel, weddings, funerals, baptisms and communion, as able and as needed
- Present a written report on the work and condition of the church at the annual business meeting
- Be accountable to the elder-deacon board and ultimately the congregation
- Board Relationships:
- Be a voting member of the elder-deacon board
- Have the power of address and serve as an ex officio member of all boards and committees of the church
- The pastoral and office staff are directly responsible to the senior pastor
Calling:
The election and calling of a pastor may take place at any regular or special business meeting called for that purpose. Voting shall be done by closed ballot. The pastor shall be called for an indefinite period of time and must receive a three-fourths majority of all votes cast. Both the pastor and the church shall have the privilege of terminating such services on three (3) months notice, but may change this provision by mutual agreement.
