Director of Operations
Job Description
The Director of Operations is responsible for managing the day-to-day operational functions of Cornerstone Community Bible Church, recruiting and working alongside volunteers and lay leaders, to enabling effective ministry through excellent stewardship of resources, facilities and systems. This role oversees communications, finance, facilities and event coordination. All this is done in close partnership with the Lead Pastor, fellow staff members and church leadership to execute on the mission and vision of Cornerstone.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership & Staff Collaboration
- Participate in leadership team meetings and contribute to church-wide strategic planning
- Serve as a resource and support to pastoral staff and ministry leaders
- Foster healthy collaboration across ministry areas to ensure operational alignment
- Proactively manage and coordinate the church calendar with ministry leaders
- Develop and maintain church policies and operational procedures
Communication & Marketing
- Oversee weekly communication to congregation through email, print, text messaging and other channels
- Manage and update church website in coordination with ministry needs
- Coordinate graphic design elements with third-party designers and volunteers
- Implement best practices for internal and external church communications
- Champion effective ways to communicate vision, events and ministry opportunities
Financial Management
- Coordinate with third party to manage day-to-day financial operations, monitor expenses and annual budget
- Complete weekly deposits and assist in purchase requests and deposits
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures and legal requirements
- Handle vendor relationships and negotiate contracts and service agreements
Facilities Management
- Supervise routine building maintenance and repairs with contractors and volunteers
- Oversee facility improvement projects from planning through completion
- Ensure building safety, security protocols and risk management procedures are maintained
- Conduct regular facility inspections and develop maintenance plans
- Manage facility schedules, space allocation and reservation systems
- Coordinate facility usage for church events, outside groups and community activities
- Serve as primary contact for facility use inquiries and ensure clear communication

Oversee setup and breakdown coordination for events
Event & Operations Support
- Coordinate operational support for ministry events (facilities, production, administrative needs)
- Support needs of community partners using church space
- Manage office supplies, equipment needs and centralized administrative services
- Assist with special events and church-wide initiatives
- Handle general correspondence and inquiries as appropriate
- Ensure staff and volunteers are prepared for Sunday gatherings and special functions
