Job Description

SUMMARY

The Equipping Pastor at The Bridge Church is a full-time ministry role focused on developing and equipping the next generation of leaders within Jesus’ Kingdom. He will help shape the vision of a future residency program, where we will train and develop up-and-coming worship leaders, youth directors, church planters and missionaries. The ideal candidate is someone with years of relevant ministry experience and an outgoing and people-oriented personality. This pastor will provide care for our church family through shepherding, counseling, visitation and teaching (or worship leading). The Equipping Pastor serves as part of the pastoral team and reports directly to the lead pastor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Agreement with the EFCA Statement of Faith and the mission and values of The Bridge
  • Exhibits consistent godly character as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9
  • A shepherding heart with a sincere love for people
  • Proven leadership experience and the ability to develop leaders within a ministry context
  • Strong passion for equipping others for ministry
  • Ability to uphold and abide by the church’s bylaws
  • Skilled in worship leading or preaching/teaching
  • Proficient with tools such as Planning Center, Google Applications, and Microsoft Office
  • A loyal team player who values collaboration and cooperation
  • Educational Requirement: A Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Willingness to pursue licensing or ordination in the EFCA within two years
  • Commitment to serving in this role for at least five years

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In collaboration with the lead pastor, develop and lead a residency program (launching in the fall of 2028). This will include the following responsibilities:
    • Develop a curriculum plan for the residents
    • Recruit and interview potential candidates
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the residency program
    • Partner with the residents to launch them into future ministry settings
  • Intentionally develop leaders (outside the residency program) within The Bridge
  • Provide pastoral care and intentional shepherding (through counseling, hospital visits, weddings and funerals)
  • Teach or lead worship occasionally (depending on personal gifting) in various contexts
  • Oversee various day-to-day operations of the church, including managing some staff and/or volunteer roles
  • Eager to pursue licensing in the EFCA within two years
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the lead pastor
