Job Description

The EFCA National Office is seeking a full-time Pre-Deployed Staff Manager to provide excellent coaching, care and leadership for new mid-term and long-term missionary staff. This role plays a critical part in guiding and influencing the post-acceptance missionary process, including onboarding, orientation, support raising and deployment. The Pre-Deployed Staff Manager supports both the Engage team and the IMA Personnel team in fulfilling our purpose to “recruit, support and retain IMA staff by coming alongside them to serve them well.”

Hours per week: 40
Schedule: Full-time, flexible

Duties

  • Guide new mid-term and long-term missionary staff through all post-acceptance processes, including onboarding, paperwork, training requirements and deployment steps.
  • Provide coaching and support for Ministry Partnership Development (MPD), including coordination with Tailored Fundraising.
  • Maintain and improve onboarding and training courses in LMS 365/The Tree.
  • Conduct monthly check-ins and provide ongoing spiritual encouragement, care and accountability for pre-deployed staff.
  • Oversee and coordinate staff and volunteers who assist with coaching and mentoring.
  • Participate in candidate interviews, New Staff Training and other Engage processes as requested.
  • Assist the Engage Director with strategy, projects and process improvements related to pre-deployed staff.
  • Support the Explore pathway and broader Engage application processes as needed.
  • Build relationships with EFCA ministry teams and leaders to strengthen placement, training and field integration.

Skills and education requirements

  • Alignment with and commitment to the mission and values of the EFCA.
  • Good organizational skills relating to materials and maintaining effective records.
  • Committed personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Maturity in relationship with Christ and demonstrated spiritual leadership.
  • Minimum two years cross-cultural missionary experience.
  • Experience in support raising and coaching others strongly preferred.
  • Four-year college degree required—degree in Bible, theology, intercultural studies or other related subject preferred.
