About this Church

Fredenberg Community Church was started in January of 2025, and we are in search of a permanent full-time senior pastor.

Affiliation: Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA)
Attendance: 35-45 on Sunday mornings

Fredenberg Community Church (FCC) is a growing church nestled in northern Minnesota about 15 miles from the city of Duluth in the Township of Fredenberg, which covers roughly 25 square miles of land, and has a population of about 1,400 people. Fredenberg Township is located in St. Louis County and is known for a rural feel, high homeownership, and is close to several lakes and rivers. Fredenberg is in the Hermantown school district.

FCC had its beginning in 1949. The current church was built in the 1990’s and has great potential for growth due to its physical size. It seats roughly 200 people, has a balcony, working elevator, several classrooms, a spacious kitchen, coffee bar, nursery, a huge lower level for receptions and potlucks, a newly remodeled pastor’s office and a large parking lot. FCC has an up-to-date sound system and sound equipment to accommodate a large worship band. FCC also purchased brand new cushioned chairs a few years ago.

FCC has a mixed age group. Currently, FCC has an elected leadership team of a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, two Elders and a Treasurer, all volunteer positions.

Community Highlights

Fredenberg Community Church is located in the scenic Northland of Minnesota, offering abundant outdoor recreation, beautiful lakes, and natural surroundings. The area is near Lake Superior and is home to respected colleges and vibrant communities.

While the congregation is currently small, it is made up of dedicated individuals who are eager to grow and actively engage with the local community.
