Campus Pastor
Job Description
Cornerstone Church is seeking a Campus Pastor to shepherd and oversee the March Street congregation as part of one Cornerstone Church.
This pastor will preach and teach the Word, care for people, strengthen discipleship, develop leaders, support unity across campuses and coordinate campus ministry in alignment with Cornerstone’s mission, values and elder leadership.
Primary Responsibilities
- Preach and teach the Word under the direction of the lead pastor; preaching opportunities may average once per month.
- Provide pastoral care through prayer, visitation, counsel, encouragement, weddings, funerals and care for the sick.
- Help administer baptism and the Lord’s Supper under the guidance of th lead pastor and elders.
- Strengthen discipleship through community groups, discipleship groups, leadership development and life-on-life encouragement.
- Oversee March Street ministry teams such as greeting, ushering, security, hospitality, worship coordination and other campus ministries.
- Support men’s ministry and other campus ministries as assigned.
- Help March Street and Second Street function as one church, honoring each campus while strengthening shared mission and leadership.
Church-Planting Vision
This role is connected to Cornerstone’s longer-term church-planting vision. The candidate should have the gifts, calling and willingness to help lead a future church plant within Cornerstone’s geographical
footprint, if the Lord leads and the church affirms that direction.
What You Bring
- Clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and elder-qualified character as described in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
- Commitment to Scripture, the biblical gospel, sound doctrine, prayer, discipleship and pastoral care.
- Alignment with Cornerstone’s doctrine, mission, values, ministry direction and the EFCA Statement of Faith.
- Gifts and calling in preaching, teaching, shepherding, leadership and disciplemaking.
- Teachable spirit, initiative, humility and ability to work well with staff, elders, deacons, ministry leaders and volunteers.
Education and Experience
- Minimum five years of pastoral ministry experience.
- Biblical, theological or ministry training or equivalent ministry experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Flexible schedule for evenings, weekends, meetings, visitation, counseling and church events.
- Willingness to begin EFCA credentialing within two years; ordination if appropriate.
Salary
$65,000 to $75,000
