Pastor of Discipleship and Administration
Job Description
DISCIPLESHIP
• Evangelism and Assimilation: Equip the church to do the work of evangelism and help people find ways to connect, grow and serve in the church in order that more might know Christ and make Him known.
• Care and Counseling: Coordinate connections for people needing care and establish church-based counseling groups.
• Adult Ministry: Oversee adult discipleship programs such as life groups, men’s/women’s ministry, prayer team, Bible studies and adult Sunday school.
• Leadership Development: Create a plan to build up current leaders and train new leaders.
• General Pastoral Responsibilities: Assist pastoral staff in preaching, teaching, care, counseling, special events, etc.
ADMINISTRATION
• Staff: Oversee non-pastoral staff (currently secretary and custodians) and lead weekly staff meetings (secretary + pastors).
• Strategic Planning and Logistics: Engage with other leaders in long-term strategic planning (facility, finance, staffing), coordinate logistics for large church gatherings (with welcome team, security team, etc.), and serve as a liaison between deacons, deaconesses, staff and elders.
• Missions: Work with the missions committee to strengthen relationships with existing missions partners, cast a vision for the priority of global missions and provide opportunities for people to explore missions.

Iowa Falls Evangelical Free Church was established in 1983. In our small town of about 5000 people, we have long been known as the church committed to faithfully teaching the Bible while welcoming and loving one another. We are made up of people from a variety of backgrounds and generations. We enjoy long-standing relationships with local and global missions partners, most of whom are or have been members of our church family. Whether overseas or right here in our small town and the surrounding area, there is great opportunity for gospel growth.
