The Pastor of Senior High and Home Group Ministries at Riverview is a key role. It’s an opportunity to build a thriving student ministry designed to reach the next generation and continue to build out the adult home group ministry to make a "big church" truly connected to a learning and caring community.

Riverview Church is a biblically grounded, evangelical church that is deeply committed to the authority, sufficiency and inerrancy of Scripture. We believe that the Bible is God’s inspired Word and the ultimate authority for faith and practice. Our preaching and teaching ministries are centered on the faithful exposition and application of Scripture with a strong emphasis on helping people develop a mature and vibrant walk with Jesus Christ.

We are seeking a pastor who shares this commitment to biblical truth and who desires to shepherd both students and adults toward spiritual maturity. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine love for God’s Word, a passion for discipleship and a heart for building meaningful relationships that foster spiritual growth.

Our church places a high value on community and discipleship. One of the primary ways this takes place is through our home group ministry, where believers gather throughout the week for fellowship, encouragement, prayer and Bible study. We view home groups as a vital expression of New Testament community and an essential component of spiritual growth within the church. The home group pastor portion of this role will provide leadership, vision, encouragement and support for these groups as they help people move from simply attending church to becoming fully engaged disciples of Christ.

Likewise, we believe that the next generation matters deeply to God. Our youth ministry seeks to partner with parents in discipling students to know, love and follow Jesus Christ. We desire a youth pastor who can effectively communicate biblical truth to students, build strong relationships with families, equip volunteer leaders and create a ministry environment where students are challenged to grow in their faith and develop a biblical worldview.

Theologically, Riverview Church embraces a conservative evangelical position that is grounded in historic Christian orthodoxy. We are a non-charismatic church that believes the Holy Spirit actively works in the lives of believers today while affirming that the miraculous sign and gifts associated with the apostolic era are not normative for the church's ongoing ministry. Our worship services seek to be Christ-centered, biblically faithful and edifying to the body of Christ.

We also hold a complementarian understanding of the roles of men and women in the church and home. We believe that men and women are equal in dignity, value and worth before God while serving in distinct and complementary roles as established by Scripture. Furthermore, we joyfully uphold God’s design for marriage and family as revealed in His Word and seek to strengthen families through biblical teaching, encouragement and discipleship.

Key Responsibilities

• Be the primary communicator for Riverview Church High School students.
• Oversee the planning and implementation of large and small group environments, mission trips, camps, retreats and special events.
• Recruit, train and retain ministry volunteers.
• Develop and execute an annual calendar of events.
• Successfully develop relationships with local high school students and staff.
• Create an environment that attracts high school students within Riverview Church and the local communities we serve.
• Continue to nurture and grow the adult home groups that meet weekly to study God’s word, pray and care for each other.
