Job Description

  • Provide leadership and oversight to the preaching/teaching ministry of Bethel Church
  • Be the primary preaching pastor, but be willing to share the responsibility
  • Oversee and provide guidance for other full time staff; office staff; and other part-time employees
  • Work in harmony and unity with the elders, encouraging them in their leadership roles as well as listening to their advice
  • Work with the worship leaders in coordination of preaching/teaching worship hours
  • Help our worship services as a whole to be encouraging and inviting to our community
  • Continue to improve our "discipleship pathways" at Bethel church
  • Encourage and advise our various ministries reaching our church demographics
  • Provide pastoral duties as needed. This may include, but not limited to pre-marriage counseling, officiating weddings, general counseling, funeral planning and officiating, hospital visitation, baptisms, prayer and other pastoral needs as they arise.
  • Participate in an annual review by the elders
  • Regular attendance in the Midwest District's area ministerial and annual conference, as well as the EFCA's biennial conference
  • Pray with out ceasing

About this Church

We are a multi-staff church with about 250 people attending in North Platte, Nebraska. We are looking for a lead pastor to provide godly pastoral leadership, oversight and direction for Bethel church. He would be the primary preaching pastor, but be willing to share the responsibility. Responsibilities include overseeing and providing guidance for other full time staff, office staff and part-time employees. A bachelor's degree in a pastoral related field is required and a Master's of Divinity or equivalent is preferred. He must hold to the theology and beliefs outlined in the EFCA Statement of Faith. He should have a shepherds heart with a strong desire to see people lives transformed.
