Senior Pastor

Position Summary

The lead pastor’s primary responsibility is to foster spiritual growth and lead the congregation to fulfill its mission by helping people connect with Christ, encouraging small group Bible studies and create opportunities for congregants to be involved in ministry within our church and community.

Lead Pastor Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership: La Center Church is elder-led. Our pastor is first among equals and provides leadership and vision to the elder team. The elders are shepherds of our church and work hand-in-hand with the pastor to care for and lead the congregation.
• Worship: With the help of the worship team, develop worship services that are purposeful, meaningful and draw people into the presence of God; deliver engaging and primarily expositional sermons, providing the congregation with the whole counsel of Scripture.
• Prayer: Engage in proactive personal prayer seeking God’s will for the corporate body, the individuals in the congregation and the community of La Center.
• Small Groups: Promote and encourage spiritual growth and discipleship through small group ministries, Bible studies, prayer and other educational programs.
• Ministry: Encourage and support sustainable programs, utilizing the congregation's spiritual gifts.
• Management: Manage and develop church staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Provide oversight and insight to the elders for the administration and management of church operations, including budgeting, financial planning and facility care.
• Community Relations: Be mission-minded, both locally and worldwide, by maintaining La Center Church’s position as a hub of community activity and collaborating with other organizations to address community needs.
• Congregational Care: Foster and participate in a congregational-based model of care and support within the church that exemplifies the “one another” passages in the New Testament.
