Job Description

This position will coach and develop the staff and ministry lay leaders to effectively make disciples like Jesus did through relationship and a reliance upon the Holy Spirit to transform lives.

Qualifications

This position requires a self-motivated person with integrity and spiritual maturity. This person must have the heart and skill of a mentor with the wisdom to counsel, equip and develop staff and lay leaders for maximum effectiveness. This person should have strong alignment with Hillcrest’s mission and ministry values. This person should have proven experience in spiritual formation and discipleship. This person should be relationally energized with strong execution and shepherding skills.

Responsibilities

Leadership Development
• Work with the lead pastor to contribute to the vision for ministry, and implement that shared vision
• Coach and equip ministry leaders to lead with the disciplemaking mission as their objective

Coaching Staff
• Develop strong relationships with a multi-generational staff team and build a healthy team environment
• Equip, provide counsel and resource staff to be fruitful in their ministry and as a team
• Equip our staff team to “move to the next level”
• Hold staff accountable to agreed upon initiatives and coach them to excellence in their roles

Cultivating Ministry
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the overall ministry according to the disciplemaking pathway
• Serve as the point person for gospel community group development, training and support

Other Areas
• Preach at corporate worship services and conduct weddings and funerals as needed
• Engage in other areas of ministry as time and gifts allow
