About this Church
Cornerstone is an Evangelical Free Church located in Southwest Minnesota. We are approximately 45 minutes to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Pipestone is a rural town with a population of around 4,400.
Our church was planted at the end of 1999. We met in the local high school for the first twenty years but have been sharing the Christian Reformed Church building for the last three years. We are a “Simple Church” model with primarily small groups and youth group as our programs. We strive to be relationally driven verses program driven.
Our mission is to build lives on Christ through these core values.
• Headship of Christ (Col. 1:18)
• Word of God (II Tim. 3:16,17)
• Servanthood (Gal. 5:13)
• Active Evangelism (1 Pet. 3:15)
• Spirit Led Worship (John 4:23)
• Relevant Ministry (1 Cor. 9:22b)
• Authentic Relationships (Jn. 13:34,35)
• Spiritual Maturity (Eph. 4:11-13)
Our mindset is one of doing life together. We don’t go to church, we are the church. A building does not define us, Christ does. We work hard to maintain an environment where people can be real and remove masks which cover hardship, hurt and brokenness so that we can truly be built up in Jesus Christ.

We are in a unique situation in which our dearly loved youth and worship pastor unexpectedly entered heaven this past December from an undiagnosed health condition. We have been walking through grieving together as a church. We recognize the person filling this position will have their own unique gifts and talents. Therefore, we would love to tailor the position around those gifts and talents. The previous pastoral role served as our community life pastor and primarily oversaw the youth ministry, the worship ministry and a men’s ministry that included outdoor adventures.
