About this Church

Living Word Evangelical Free Church, Pharr, Texas was established in October 1987 in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. The valley has a rich culture of Hispanic heritage as well an influx of Winter Texans from up north each year. Worship is a combination of contemporary and traditional style led by gifted and talented musicians. Living Word is composed of young families, singles and people in all stages of life, many of whom are actively serving our Lord.

One of the most outstanding strengths of our church is its focus on the accurate exposition and application of the Word of God through preaching and teaching. Through the significant challenges due to the Covid 19 pandemic, our Lord was faithful to keep us actively serving Him and growing our numbers. During that same period, our Lord gave us the resources to pay off our mortgage. In the summer of 2023, Living Word expanded its ministry by adding Spanish worship and Sunday school services. Fellowship at Living Word is strong and there is a sense of excitement about what the future holds.
