Lead Senior Pastor
Job Description
The Lead Senior Pastor is responsible for the spiritual leadership of Christ Community Church, fostering trust, respect and appreciation among senior pastors and campus pastor teams. The lead senior pastor will have a home campus but will teach at all campuses multiple times a year.
Key responsibilities include serving on the elder leadership team, mentoring campus pastors and pastoral residents and providing leadership to the teaching team to ensure sound doctrine across all campuses.
Additionally, the lead senior pastor will offer strategic thought leadership, guiding the church’s future direction and organizational structure. This person will also provide pastoral care, support the church’s mission and bylaws, and seek credentialing with the Evangelical Free Church of America.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience leading a multi-site congregation, strong theological understanding, and excellent communication skills, embodying humility, integrity and servant leadership.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves as a member of the elder leadership team
- Gives leadership to the senior leadership team, guiding the direction of Christ Community
- Provides leadership and participates in Christ Community’s teaching team, giving oversight to the teaching of sound doctrine across all campuses
- Provides strategic thinking and creativity when crafting the future direction of Christ Community and directs the growing impact of the church
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Masters of Divinity degree
- Significant experience leading a multi-site staff and congregation
- Proven ability to work with and lead both staff and volunteers
- Able to teach the Bible with clarity, creativity and conviction
- Proven ability to build a culture of trust through the church body
