Job Description
The candidate will serve the congregation by being a person who:
- Lives a life of vulnerability, repentance and communion with God and others
- Seeks to know others’ stories and to be known by others
- Regularly checks on the spiritual health of the church family and prays for them
- Seeks ways to help people cultivate a deeper relational union with God and each other
- Seeks ways to help congregation live missionally in our culture
- Prepares and delivers sermons from the Bible that are aimed at the heart and that lead people to encounter, enjoy and express Jesus Christ
- Cultivates a culture that lives out the mission and core-values of Enclave
- Shepherds the hearts of other elders and staff and is open to be shepherded by them in return
- Shepherds volunteers spiritually and supports them in their ministry
- Seeks to identify and invest in new servant leaders
Area of Ministry: Pastor/Elder
Reports to: Team of Elders and Congregation
Salary: 65K-85K, depending on experience and education
Requirements:
The candidate will be willing to affirm and live out the following:
- The Statement of Faith of the Evangelical Free Church of America
- The Church Mission Statement and Core Values of Enclave Community Church
- The Constitution and Bylaws of Enclave Community Church
Responsibilities:
By the power of the Spirit, the candidate will be responsible to:
- Personally cultivate a spiritual life of communion with God and submission to God
- Provide pastoral care for his family
- Cultivate a culture that actively relies on God to live out and express the mission and core-values of Enclave Community Church
- Preach approximately forty Sunday sermons a year
- Serve as a member of the team of elders in an effort to meet the spiritual needs of the congregation
- Mobilize and support the team of deacons
- Provide oversight and input regarding the development, approval and implementation of the annual church budget
- Prepare and lead annual covenant member meetings
- Prepare and lead covenant member classes
- Uphold the constitution and the by-laws of Enclave Community Church
Qualifications:
- The candidate will give evidence of the Spiritual gift of pastor and teacher
- The candidate will give evidence of the character qualifications for an elder as outlined in 1 Tim 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9
- The candidate will give evidence of the fruit of the Spirit
Education:
- MA in Biblical Studies or Christian Theology or MDiv is preferred
- Certification or License: Must be willing to pursue licensure and ordination through the EFCA
