Children's Ministry Director
Job Description
Position Overview:
The Children’s Ministry Director is designed to provide spiritual oversight, direction and development of the various children’s programs and ministries of the church; being intentional in identifying and equipping leaders.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Recruiting and training of volunteer staff and leadership for our children’s ministries (i.e. Sunday school, Children’s Church, VBS, etc.).
• Reviewing, approving and/or developing children’s ministry curriculum and materials.
• Providing information to the church family about children’s ministry opportunities and activities through the church bulletin, website and Sunday morning announcements.
• Helping to develop the mission and vision for our children’s ministry in keeping with Parkview’s philosophy of ministry.
• Managing a schedule of volunteers, along with group communication and resources (using PlanningCenter).
• Leading special events (i.e. VBS, Christmas Programs, etc.).
• Communicating with the church office regarding new families.
• Vetting new volunteers (background checks, volunteer applications).
• Managing Planning Center Check-in Stations in collaboration with IT team.
• Create, purchase and/or manage all relevant materials for regular education ministry (name tags, rosters, check-in station supplies, craft supplies, unique lesson needs).
• Setup and arranging rooms for varied uses (changing setup from Sundays to Wednesdays).
• Coordinating with the nursery directory.
• Coordinating with the AWANA Commanders and ministry team.
• Creating policies and procedures with the staff and elders regarding the safety, care and education of children within the church; and communicating them to volunteers.
• Coordinate with the various ministry team leads when ministries overlap (i.e. Hospitality ministry and VBS, greet ministry and children’s church, office and kids’ bulletins or newsletter, security and children’s ministry volunteers regarding safety).
• Overseeing all budget recommendations to the deacons pertaining to children’s ministry.
Qualifications:
• A person of established Christian character, sound in faith and doctrine; meeting the qualifications of a spiritual elder whether male or female (those Biblical points that would apply from I Timothy 3:1 – 7; Titus 1:6 – 7).
• A deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to personal spiritual growth.
• Possess the humble heart of a servant leader who has demonstrated children’s ministry involvement and experience.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple ministries simultaneously.
• Familiarity and skills with necessary children’s ministry technology.

Parkview is a vibrant and growing EFCA church dedicated to nurturing spiritual growth, fostering discipleship and spreading the message of Jesus Christ. We are a multigenerational family church with lots of kids, youth and college students averaging 600+ on a weekly basis. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's director to guide our congregation in teaching and training our kids about Jesus. This role will build on the current work of our children's ministry while anticipating God's direction for the future.
